Key Milestones of Writing A Study

Experts recommend that you perform constructive criticism of previous studies, make an analysis and, based on the data obtained, make a complete analysis. It is recommended to focus on the evidence base with the presence of predictions. Naturally, the demand for solutions and, in general, the need for lighting and solving the chosen direction are taken into account.

A supervisor can provide qualified assistance in the preparation of a competent justification. With the approval of the chosen direction, its relevance is considered by the commission at a meeting of the department. The topic of the dissertation is approved by the academic council, not by the supervisor.

For a correct and competent justification, the student must follow the established plan. It includes the following key steps:

  • theme formation;

  • evidence of significance;

  • formation of goals;

  • evidence of novelty;

  • practical significance.

Theme formation

A successful formulation is half the success. The chosen direction must fully comply with the Passport of specialties of the Higher Attestation Commission. This is the main criterion indicating the literacy and correctness of the choice. In the process of studying the topic, it can be adjusted, depending on the relevance of the data.

At the initial stage, the student needs to reflect the novelty of the chosen topic. This means that "hackneyed" destinations that have hundreds of solutions are not suitable. You can work them out, but it is advisable to choose something really worthwhile. Rereading the topic, the student and supervisor should have no doubt that the direction is not interesting.

Evidence of Significance

At this stage, evidence is required. The chosen topic should be really relevant. Particular attention is paid not only to the practical part, but also to the issue of working out the existing problem.

Formation of goals

Each topic has its own goals and objectives. When working out the direction, it is necessary to create an algorithm of actions that will help to achieve a certain solution to the problem. The chosen goal should be fully correlated with the topic and organically build on relevance. As for the tasks, they are formed in such a way that after their solution it is clear that the goal of a comprehensive study has been achieved.

Evidence of novelty

Even if the chosen topic has been touched upon several times, the student needs to prove its relevance. This can be done by developing innovative ways to solve the ongoing research. At the same time, it is desirable to indicate the significant differences between the developed algorithms and those already in operation.

Practical significance

At this stage, it is necessary to justify the relevance of the chosen solutions and show how this will be reflected in practice. For reliability, it is possible to provide data on the use of the developed methodology in real production. In addition, it is recommended to indicate the direction in which the chosen methodology can be relevant.
